Midnight Snack: BelVita Pumpkin Spice Breakfast Biscuits
On this week’s Midnight Snack, an old BelVita Pumpkin Spice Breakfast Biscuit made its way on to our kitchen counter. I wandered into the kitchen later at night and the rest is, well, we’re here now.

These things have a pretty inviting package:
Ya got your pumpkin with the sun behind it, ya got your pumpkin spice written on the pumpkin, ya gotchur “4-hour energy” thing.
The first thing I did was the “shake test” to try and get an idea of how many crumbs were in there. It sounded like on a scale of 1-10, 10 being a Nature Valley, it had a crumbtitude of about a 2.
Upon actually opening it, this was confirmed:
The package came with 4 full “biscuits,” with one that was a lil’ bit broken:
I made the best attempt I could at putting together a Flintstones house/sort of Stonehenge looking-thing:
But down to business. I finally tried one of the biscuits that was completely together (still feels weird typing that these were biscuits):
The first impression was that there wasn’t a ton of pumpkin spice flavor. Maybe that was because I ate this well past October and the pumpkin spice taste only exists in a 31-day period where you need a sweatshirt in the morning and a t-shirt by the afternoon, who knows. Their consistency was good, though. Pairing it with the last glass of Franzia boxed red from the basement fridge was kinda okay.
They weren’t stale or too soft and there was a solid crunch to them. It was still pretty easy to go to sleep a short while after eating it, so I’m not sure on the 4-hour energy claims. Calories are calories, though, so TECHNICALLY it would give you the amount of energy in the calories listed on the nutrition facts. Whether that would actually carry for 4 hours, eh.
I liked them. If you’re doing some library labor late at night or grindin’ at the office way past dinner, these would do the job for at least a few hours. They were also good because they were not too sugary. Considering they appeared out of nowhere on our counter and were probably picked up for free somewhere, I was happy with them. I could see myself buying a box once in a while.

Recommend? Yea probably.
