Popeye’s Is Goin’ to South Korea
Popeye’s is getting launched in South Korea, according to a press release from Restaurant Brands International. That’s pretty exciting, because Popeye’s is known for having some pretty incredible chicken. I haven’t even had their bone-in stuff, we’re talking chicken strips here. Their strips are phenomenal with that seasoning they’ve got.
I think they’ll probably be a hit in South Korea, unless the menu is different to reflect international tastes being different. That could possibly happen, although I’m sure that they’ll stay true to the core of what their business is and have at least some Louisiana-style chicken there.
According to the Restaurant Brands International press release, they will be opening hundreds of restaurants.
Quote From David Shear:
“We are thrilled to launch Popeyes® with the Silla Group subsidiary. We have strong confidence in the group and are pleased to announce exciting plans to bring our iconic Louisiana-style chicken to one of the largest chicken QSR markets in the world” said David Shear, President RBI International, parent company of Popeyes®. “Our entry illustrates our commitment to serving more guests around the world and the execution of our growth plans for the Asia Pacific region”.
